I founded CaptivePortals in Oct 2008 after a career in software development and Product Management.
Through CaptivePortals I am extending the traditional WiFi hotspot to offer location based social networking, marketing and entertainment services. Our focus is on creating an experience where the digital environment interacts with the physical environment to bring together the best of both worlds.
Our first product is a Networking Hotspot – as the name suggest this is a WiFi hotspot that enables people at the same event to network digitally, and so find out who is at the event and what products/services they offer prior to arranging, via instant messaging, to meet up.
