Techcelerate is a thriving community of tech entrepreneurs, senior managers of technology companies, investors, deal makers and service providers, all united to create and grow technology companies rapidly, with access to knowledge, capital and markets, and help create a technology led growth economy

Tech Mission London 2010 (#TML10) provides a dynamic environment for Northern Tech community (tech entrepreneurs, investors, deal makers and service providers) to engage with their counterparts from London. Key objectives of this mission are to build new relationships and partnerships with access to markets, share knowledge and best practices, and explore investment opportunities.

Tech Mission London is arranged as a workshop and a pitching event to showcase early stage high growth technology businesses, as well as to share knowledge and explore partnerships.

Likely split of workshops (break-out sessions) would be SaaS/Enterprise, Consumer Internet/ecommerce and Other.

Up to eight companies will pitch to a panel of investors in the evening. Each company is given 5 minutes to deliver a razor-sharp pitch and the investors have 10 mins to evaluate the opportunity for follow up during networking and beyond.

Alastair Mitchell - "Go big or go home" - Co-Founder & CEO Huddle.net

During early years, Alistair helped to build the first online market place for the global food commodities market, which provided marketing, auction and logistics capabilities to companies across Europe, Africa & the Far East. Alastair then moved to dunnhumby, where he led the growth of its web-based marketing intelligence product to £20m in three years. Alastair joined dunnhumby’s Strategic Management Board in 2005 to head up the group’s Shopping Experience practice, a $60m+ business globally. Huddle recently raised $10.2m Series B finance round, taking the overall venture capital investment in the company to $14.2 million

Nic Brisbourne - DFJ Esprit - $6bn capital under management

Nic has been in venture capital since 2000. In that time he has worked in London, Europe and Silicon Valley. His main areas of focus have been software and media. Prior to DFJ Esprit he was with Reuters Venture Capital. Nic's investment experience includes buy.at (sold to AOL for $125m) and UltraDNS (acquired by Neustar - NYSE NSR). He currently manages DFJ Esprit's investments in Zeus, WAYN and Tribold. Prior to joining Reuters Nic worked for Operis, a software and services start-up, and Cap Gemini. Nic also authors a blog commenting on the European technology and venture capital markets.
